Conversations with Authors - a free live EMCC event with Linda Aspey, co editor of "Holding the Hope" and Matthew Painton, Deep Adaptation coach & chapter author

Join EMCC for an inspiring “Conversations with Authors” event with Linda Aspey, co-editor of Holding the Hope: Reviving Psychological and Spiritual Agency in the Face of Climate Change, and Matthew Painton, Deep Adaptation coach and chapter author.

In this insightful session, we’ll explore how psychological and spiritual resilience can empower individuals and communities to face the growing challenges of climate change with hope and actionGlobal heating, catastrophic climate change and the growing reality of ecosystem damage and accelerated species extinction hang over us all.

For the counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists, coaches and their supervisors who make up the talking therapy professions, these topics are increasingly coming up in their work. They must deal both with their clients’ and communities’ emotions and responses – their fear, anger, denial, grief, helplessness and hopelessness – and with their own.

The chapters in this thought-provoking, honest, moving and sobering book explore the frameworks, theoretical constructs and ways of working they have devised to hold hope and build agency in the face of all this complexity, uncertainty and injustice.

Linda and Matthew will discuss with the EMCC several aspects of the book including our inter-relationships with the rest of the natural world, deep adaptation coaching and much more.
